It is better to have a few servers with quality moderation than to have access to hundreds that allow awful behavior.

Hateful people hide on servers that are ‘too big to fail’ because they know most people want exposure to as many people as possible.

We have an opportunity to change that dynamic by molding the tech to our needs and prioritizing quality, not quantity.

That's why I don't mind if the fedi fractures. Some people are just too enamored with the idea of being seen by as many people as possible, no matter how toxic and unsustainable it is.

We can do better. We can build networks that are actually fun and enriching.
