what the hell is synapse doing, committing 1400 database transactions per second up from its average of around 280?

@jill yeah true. it's not like this is anywhere close to becoming too much to handle but still... synapse is pretty terrible some times

@sophie Yeah.. this drone unit had trouble too with synapse DB usage and uhhh it's always painful to manage

@jill yeah... even despite daily runs of the state compressor tool the database has by now grown to 720 GiB. at least pgbouncer allows reducing the amount of (real) database connections synapse needs to somewhere around 15 connections on average
