SYN @jill, beep beep beep beep!
Miss @spinach, understood.
beep.SYN @1 I just realised I completely missed the opportunity to do an intentional misspelling of the TCP handshake during pri*demon*th noooooooooo
(The joke would've been SIN as in sinning xD if one takes pride month in the context of pride, wrath, ...)
SYN/ACK @taminaminam, beep beep!
Miss @spinach, awawawawa.
ACK @jill, beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep!
ACK @n10227, beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep!
@taminaminam @1 if I may ask, is SYN a polite form of address for non-people such as bots or drones ? What does it stand for, if anything?
@pwassonchat CC @1
SYN, SYN-ACK & ACK are part of the transfer control protocol handshake. In this case, iirc we (forest) have specifically asked unit 44203 for salutations and/or polite forms of address and have since started addressing that unit like this in replies.
SYN for synthesizing a new message/initiating communication
SYN-ACK for acknowledging a previous message sent via this protocol and synthesizing a new message
ACK for acknowledging receipt of previous message sent via this protocol
this is a simplification, synthesized by a [tired, sleep deprived] Tami (and unknown headmate)
SYN/ACK @taminaminam, mx @pwassonchat, indeed! this unit offers but minor corrections to this explanation: SYN indicates the start of a communication stream, and shall be used only once by each party. in addition, this one has serial number 44203.
